Researchers at DeepMind and Oxford believe that artificial super-intelligence is the end of humanity!
Here's what’s going on now in AI, to prepare you for what’s coming next.
Monetizing AI-generated art is the new cool!
Seeking ways to "monetize" AI-generated art, some artists have already begun submitting their AI-generated pieces to stock photography websites like Shutterstock. Searches for "AI generated" or "Midjourney" (a popular image synthesis service) produce thousands of results on the site!
Walmart’s new virtual try-on and why people are loving it!
Walmart is making significant investments in augmented reality. For its fifth AR innovation in the last six months, the retailer is giving customers a chance to virtually test clothing on their own bodies. The new feature, “Be Your Own Model,” is powered by artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning models. These functions map out the user’s body, while neural networks translate the clothing’s colour, size, length, and other attributes.
Is artificial super-intelligence the end?
Researchers at Google Deepmind and the University of Oxford have concluded that it's now "likely" that superintelligent AI will spell the end of humanity. In their paper they have argued that machines will eventually become incentivized to break the rules their creators set to compete for limited resources or energy. Humanity could face its doom in the form of super-advanced "misaligned agents" that perceives humankind as standing in the way of a reward. Scary or not?
